At some point calling everyone who disagrees with you a racist has to get old.\u00a0 Millennials, try to resist. And prepare to be microagressed, by an aberration to your government education. Columbus was Awesome!<\/p>\n

Have you ever read what Columbus actually wrote?\u00a0 His journal is readily available in English.\u00a0 He clearly states that he wanted to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 At another time when the Muhammedans were threatening Europe, he sought a route to the East bypassing them, as well as gold to defend Christendom.\u00a0 Of course you would probably just call him a liar and a racist.\u00a0 But then you have to call thousands of people liars.\u00a0 From the man who penned our first national Anthem \u2018Hail Columbia\u201d\u00a0 to the people who named Columbia University, Columbia Pictures, CBS and The District of Columbia.\u00a0 Not to mention the millions who have celebrated Columbus, from the unofficial reverence for the bold explorer, to the official holiday.<\/p>\n

How is it that Columbus is now blamed for every sin committed in North and I assume South America since 1492?\u00a0 Why isn\u2019t he responsible for every good?\u00a0 That\u2019s how the optimists of old saw it. \u00a0 Fair Columbia is still the greatest place on earth because we have upheld the Christian spirit of Columbus, which is why the indigenous are leaving their indigence and flocking here.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to sit in comfy America and complain about the past.\u00a0 It\u2019s difficult to sail into the unknown on a little wooden ship.\u00a0 But Columbus took the great risk, and changed the world.\u00a0 If you are so concerned about genocide why don\u2019t you get up and go fight ISIS?\u00a0 A \u201cNative American\u201d defeat of ISIS might actually be worth a holiday.<\/p>\n

You should be more offended by the word \u2018holiday\u2019, from the word \u2018holy\u2019 via the Catholics. Which makes it evil, right?\u00a0 Wait, can you say evil?\u00a0 Who defines evil? Apparently our non-native City Commission.<\/p>\n

FDR said: \u201cColumbus is the symbol of the soul in search of knowledge.\u201d\u00a0 So search for knowledge instead of name-calling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
