<\/a>The reality is that to congregate, hear preaching, sing songs and pray, you need a location.\u00a0 We aren\u2019t disembodied souls.\u00a0 The early church met in Mark\u2019s mother\u2019s house, probably because she was well-off and it was large enough to fit them.\u00a0 Later Christians advanced the art of architecture, making buildings larger and more beautiful.\u00a0 And why wouldn\u2019t they?\u00a0 Do we hold this against them?\u00a0 These communities poured their blood and sweat into cathedrals, monuments to their faith which stand to this day.\u00a0 Those rock are crying out.\u00a0 It\u2019s strange that what we hear are dissonant tones, especially considering the amazing acoustics.\u00a0 There seems to be a growing dislike for excellence in anything, except the function of our devices.\u00a0 When they go wrong we lose it.\u00a0 But everything else is no longer a pursuit of excellence, what is it a pursuit of?<\/p>\nWhy is attempting to build a church building by the best theology you can find somehow suspect?\u00a0 Is it more appropriate for the government, hopelessly lost in their humanism, not knowing what a male or a female is, to build buildings and we simply rent them?\u00a0 The fact is we paid for them.\u00a0 The state doesn\u2019t have any money they must first get it from us.\u00a0 Why do we let them have the power over our money?\u00a0 Isn\u2019t it all about power?\u00a0 The church isn\u2019t allowed to exert power, to pursue excellence, that\u2019s intimidation.\u00a0 But the state can be all powerful?<\/p>\n
We are to take every thought captive.\u00a0 Jesus is King.\u00a0 That\u2019s a fact, he is reigning on high. That’s the Gospel. He earned this exalted position by laying down his life as the perfect sacrifice.\u00a0 We are to go into the whole earth baptizing everyone.\u00a0 It\u2019s a geographical mission, we should claim territory.\u00a0 There was a territorial aspect to the ruling effect Satan and his demons offered to Jesus in the wilderness.\u00a0 Did our forefathers really believe the Church was only a building?\u00a0 Then why did they build schools, orphanages, hospitals, villages, cities, states, kingdoms and nations?\u00a0 Why did they move to the jungle and live in huts, or the dessert and live in caves.\u00a0 Why were there always priests and chaplains on ships, in battle and […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2253","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t<\/a>Why do we shoehorn the reach of our faith out of every aspect of life?\u00a0 Why do we consider this more Christian? Why are we hiding our light?\u00a0 Our faith is limited to a small corner of our heart, expressed only, just a bit, when we, *shh* meet together.\u00a0 Oh my that was hard to say, to admit.<\/p>\n<\/a>We shouldn\u2019t be afraid to boldly build buildings.\u00a0 Everyone else builds buildings which expound their religion.\u00a0 That\u2019s why we have so many dark, confused, sharp, ugly buildings.\u00a0 Cathedrals were engineered and crafted over generations to fit in more windows, to bring in more light, we are the light of the world.\u00a0 We have the word of God, we are at peace with him.\u00a0 Everything we do should reflect this.\u00a0 We don\u2019t have to fit the gospel into architecture, like Rosie O cramming into her jeans.\u00a0 It\u2019s there already, men at peace with God, free of sin are able to build and create and reflect the glory of God in everything they do.\u00a0 What do you spend your money on that\u2019s so much better than a beautiful building?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
