For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. -Ephesians 6:10
I’ve heard it said that we just need to study the Bible and not the lies of the world, just like someone who wants to catch counterfeiters studies the real currency and not the counterfeit currency. The problem is that knowing good from evil is not the same as fighting evil. It is one thing to know what is right it is quite another to chose sides well. Jesus tells us that “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Paul tells us to take up our armor to fight evil. Because if we are not actively fighting we are participating in evil, it will overcome us. The problem with living in this culture is that it’s so bad, the problem with living outside it is everyone will think you are weird, insane, arrogant, aloof, or evil. I think it’s not all that difficult of a decision for the Christian. Unfortunately many people are like Lot’s wife, who fall in love with the evil culture around them , and probably don’t even notice it.
If you carry the analogy to a warrior, you don’t learn how to fight off an evil army coming at you with swords drawn, by studying the domesticity that you fight for. If you want peace, you don’t study peace, you study techniques to defeat those who would keep you from peace. You learn how to win a victory by taking sword fighting lessons. By disciplining you body to bring it into submission, as Paul again, says. In such cases we need to know the weapons the enemy has and their fighting technique.
I think you really have to give it to the film maker, David Daleiden, who is uncovering the evils of Planned Parenthood. Impersonating someone and being intimately involved with the evils of Planned Parenthood, like the atrocities of war is not easy. I can’t even finish the videos, they are so disgusting, but I’m glad someone is doing it. But we should all be fighting in whatever way we can. Which might just mean raising a child better than you were raised. It’s a generational struggle.
